NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The daughter of Afghanistan’s exiled President Ashraf Ghani lives in Brooklyn, according to a report.
Mariam Ghani, 42, lives in a “luxury co-op” near the Pratt Institute in Clinton Hill, the New York Post reported.
A Post reporter knocked on her door and attempted to speak to her while a camera person filmed on Tuesday, but she closed the door, a video posted by the outlet shows.
Mariam Ghani, who was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Maryland, works as a visual artist and filmmaker, the outlet reported.
Her father is currently in the United Arab Emirates amid the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, the UAE confirmed Wednesday.
She addressed the situation in Afghanistan in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
"To everyone who has checked in and reached out in solidarity over the past days: thank you. It has meant a lot," she wrote. "I'm pretty burned out, but I hope I'll be able to reply to you all individually at some point."
