NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- The newly renovated flagship store of Tiffany & Co. caught fire in Midtown on Thursday morning, the FDNY said.
Two civilians were transported to area hospitals in unknown condition. The extent of the damage was unclear, but officials said it was in a utility vault below the building.
The FDNY was first called out shortly after 9:30 a.m. for a report of a transformer fire.
Video shows thick smoke pouring from the legendary luxury store at Fifth Avenue and E. 57th Street as firefighters respond.

The fire was brought under control just after 12 p.m. Con Edison and FDNY units were at the scene assessing the situation and investigating the cause.
Just two months ago in April, Tiffany & Co. announced it had reopened its "newly transformed flagship," now called "The Landmark," following the "first holistic renovation of the store since it first opened its doors in 1940."
Anthony Ledru, the president and CEO of Tiffany & Co., said at the time that the revamped store "sets a new bar for luxury retail on a global scale" with new artwork and immersive displays. The years-long renovation reportedly cost LVMH up to $500 million.
