Firefighters find man, 71, fatally stabbed in Bronx house fire

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Firefighters found a 71-year-old man who’d been fatally stabbed as they battled a fire at a Bronx home on Saturday afternoon, police said Sunday.

The fire broke out at a home on Manor Avenue, near Westchester Avenue, in the Soundview section sometime before 4:15 p.m.

As firefighters were extinguishing the fire, they found the man unresponsive with three stab wounds to his neck, police said.

EMS responded to the scene and took the victim to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He has not yet been identified.

No arrests have been reported amid an ongoing investigation, police said.
