NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A former Chicago Bulls NBA player was arrested at LaGuardia Airport Monday after allegedly punching his 10-year-old son in the face, the Port Authority Police Department said.

The 39-year-old former shooting guard, Ben Gordon, was waiting for a flight to Chicago when he was stopped from getting onto the plane and arrested around 3 a.m., according to officials.
Gordon’s son was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital, escorted by his aunt, for observation.
Port Authority police officers took Gordon to the LaGuardia station house and charged him with assault in the 2nd and 3rd degrees, resisting arrest and criminal contempt.
Two officers sustained minor injuries while attempting to handcuff Gordon, though further details about the injuries were not immediately clear.
Gordon, who was raised in Mount Vernon, New York, has a prior history of arrests. In 2017, he was pulled over in Harlem for driving with fake Florida license plates. Another time, the basketball player had to undergo psychiatric treatment after a woman called police on him for locking them both inside of his Mount Vernon business.
