NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The overdose deaths of two men last year after leaving Hell’s Kitchen gay bars were ruled homicides by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner Friday.

Both of the men had $20,000 taken from their bank accounts on the night of their deaths, officials said.

Julio Ramirez, 25, was found dead in the back of a taxi after leaving the Ritz Bar and Lounge with three unidentified men on April 20.

The OCME found he died from "acute intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl, p-fluorofentanyl, heroin, cocaine, lidocaine and ethanol."

John Umberger, 33, was found dead after leaving The Q with two unidentified men a month after Ramirez’s death. Umberger overdosed on the same drug cocktail that killed Ramirez.

More gay New Yorkers came forward with similar stories after Ramirez and Umbrger’s deaths were publicized. The NYPD confirmed reports of other grand larcenies that had similarities to the incidents at The Q and Ritz Bar.

The OCME identified both deaths as “drug-facilitated theft,” as well as homicides.
