NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A good Samaritan suffered multiple injuries after he attempted to stop a man who was harassing a woman at Grand Central Station early Monday.

The victim, 53-year-old Keith Haygood, got into a dispute with Darren Harrison around 2:50 a.m. that turned physical, leaving him with head injuries and swelling and bruises, according to police.
Haygood told WABC 7 he was waiting for a 5 train home from work, standing on the mezzanine at Grand Central when he allegedly saw Harrison pestering a woman.
"And I see a woman over there, very attractive, standing by herself, and then all of a sudden this guy appeared and he started yelling in her face and waving his arms in her face, and I'm like 'bro, what's going on?' He's getting ready to hit her or something?" said Haygood.
He said he then walked down the stairs and put himself between Harrison and the woman and called 911. Haygood said he was suddenly attacked as he talked to dispatchers.
Police said Harrison punched Haygood in the face with a closed fist, causing him to fall back, sustaining a laceration to his head.
EMS rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
His sister, Mialana Boutte, told the station that her brother suffered "a cranial brain bleed, lacerations up and down his head, fractures all up and down his orbital bones."
Harrison, 40, was eventually taken into custody and has since been charged with assault.
