Group of 5 men assault workers at Bronx deli, steal $4K in cash

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A group of five men allegedly robbed a Bronx deli Wednesday, stealing thousands of dollars and assaulting the two employees, authorities said.

The incident happened just after midnight at Alex Deli & Grocery at 1278 Morrison Avenue in Soundview, police said.

The men entered the store and attacked a 26-year-old and 21-year-old employee. One of the men took out a gun as well, according to officials.

After assaulting the employees, the group stole their personal items and about $4,000 cash before they fled the scene in a dark-colored minivan.

Both of the victims were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital ins table condition.
