Soda can, punches thrown as group robs woman on Brooklyn subway train

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A group of young thieves violently robbed a 35-year-old woman on a Brooklyn subway train, police said Wednesday as they released video of four suspects.

The victim was riding a southbound G train on the afternoon of May 4 when two males and two females—believed to be in their late teens—attacked her as the train approached the Carroll Street stop in Carroll Gardens, according to police.

One of the females threw a soda can at the woman, striking her in the head, police said.

The two males then struck her repeatedly in the back of the head and grabbed her bag, according to police.

The victim suffered lacerations to her face, head and nose, as well as swelling and bruising to her head. She was hospitalized in stable condition at New York-Presbyterian Queens.

The victim’s bag contained credit cards and other personal items.

The suspects were last seen fleeing the train at the Carroll Street station, police said.
