VIDEO: Gunman seen repeatedly shooting man on busy Bronx street sought by NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Thursday released a video of a gunman seen opening fire and repeatedly shooting a man on a Bronx sidewalk in broad daylight earlier this week.

The shooting occurred just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, in front of a store located at 706 East Tremont Avenue near the corner of Crotona Avenue, in the Crotona section, according to officials.

Surveillance footage shows the unidentified gunman standing on the busy sidewalk, holding a drink in one hand.

A 44-year-old man is then seen walking when the suspect suddenly pulls out the firearm, points it at him, and fires it, striking the victim.

The victim then tries to run away as the gunman fires his gun again, striking him a second time before fleeing the scene.

The victim was shot in the left wrist and left leg, authorites said.

He was transported by EMS in stable condition to St. Barnabas Hospital, the NYPD said.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in hopes to locate the gunman.
