The discovery was made around 12:30 p.m. near the northbound Orchard Beach/City Island exit in a wooded area, police said.

Video from News 12 on Friday night showed multiple officers looking for evidence where the bones were found.

The footage showed the possible crime scene covered with blue tarp lit up with flood lights as officials combed through.

The remains were sent to the medical examiner to be evaluated, authorities said.
