
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Police were searching Tuesday for an inmate who escaped custody at Brooklyn Central Booking on Monday evening and fled into the subway.
The suspect, Joseph King, 21, was being transported to central booking at 120 Schermerhorn St. in Downtown Brooklyn at 5:45 p.m. when he was able to free a hand from his handcuffs and make a clean break, police said Tuesday.
He was last seen running into the Hoyt–Schermerhorn Streets subway station, police said.

He'd been arrested for grand larceny, according to police.
He's described by the NYPD as having black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo with the writing "E4M" on his neck.
He was last seen wearing a black bubble jacket, gray pants, a multi-colored floral print shirt and black sneakers, police said.
