
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for a knife-wielding man who is sought in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred on the Upper West Side last month.
At about 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, a 23-year-old woman was walking in front of 309 West 109th St. when she was approached by the suspect who displayed a knife and demanded money, police said.

The victim immediately ran away, and the suspect did not pursue her, officials said.
The suspect is described as a male approximately 50-years-old, with a light complexion, slim build, with a gray beard. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, black frame eyeglasses, a black facemask, a blue hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket, black pants, black sneakers and carrying a black backpack.

Authorities released surveillance photos of the suspect prior to the incident.
