Knife-wielding man threatens Trader Joe's employee during robbery: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is looking to identify a knife-wielding man accused of threatening an employee during a robbery inside of a Trader Joe's supermarket in Manhattan last week, authorities said.

Just after 1 p.m. on Friday, May 6, the suspect entered the Trader Joe's located at 200 East 32nd St. in Murray Hill and attempted to steal items from inside, officials said.

Upon being confronted by a store employee, the suspect displayed a knife and threatened him, police said.

The suspect then fled the store and no arrests have been made.

He is described as a man wearing a Jansport backpack.
