On Dec. 1 at about 2:30 p.m., a male entered Robert A. Van Wyck Junior High School, located at 85-05 144th Street in Briarwood, according to NYPD officials.

The male then entered a public restroom in the school and approached an 11-year-old boy who was inside and took out a knife, cops said.

Pointing the knife at the boy’s chest, he demanded money from him, but the child told him that he did not have any, police said.

According to authorities, the suspect forcibly took the victim’s water bottle and fled the school. The boy was not injured.

Police also reported that just five minutes later, the suspect began arguing with a 51-year-old man at the corner of 85th Road and 149th Street.

The suspect took out a knife and tried lunging at the victim’s throat, but missed, according to police. He continued trying to slash him, but only cut the victim’s jacket.

The suspect then allegedly threw the water bottle at his victim and fled. The 51-year-old man was not injured.

The person police are looking for is described as a hispanic male, approximately in his teens, 5’2”, 110 pounds with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black jacket and black pants.

Police released a sketch and a surveillance photo obtained from a deli located blocks from the school.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or on the Spanish line at 1-888-57-PISTA.
