Livery cab driver beaten by suspects evading fare in Brooklyn: NYPD

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The NYPD is looking to identify two suspects armed with a knife who beat a livery cab driver after refusing to pay their fare in Brooklyn late last month.

At approximately 6:20 p.m., on Monday, March 28, the suspects entered a 48-year-old man's livery cab in front of 819 Pennsylvania Avenue and were transported to 25 MacDougal Street where police said the suspects refused to pay their fare and attempted to flee.

The driver exited his cab and followed the individuals to the front of 283 Ralph Avenue where they confronted him with a knife.

The suspects then proceeded to punch the victim causing minor injuries, officials said.

The victim was not stabbed or slashed and refused medical attention at the scene.
