
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is investigating the shooting death of a man in East Harlem early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
At approximately 1:50 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a male shot at 232 East 116th St., officials said.
Upon arrival, police observed a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest.
EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Harlem, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said two men had been arguing in the area when one of them pulled a gun and shot the other in the chest before fleeing the scene.
There are no arrests at this time and an investigation is ongoing.
The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
