
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was stabbed to death as he slept in a park in the West Village early Tuesday morning, according to police.

The 34-year-old man was “victimized by an unknown individual for unknown reasons,” police said as they searched for his killer. No arrests have been reported as the investigation continues.
The victim, who's believed to be homeless, was sleeping in part of the Hudson River Greenway at West and Christopher streets when he was stabbed in the stomach.
It’s unclear exactly when he was attacked, but officers responded to a 911 call about the stabbing around 4:40 a.m.
The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has been withheld pending the notification of his family.
