Man, 37, shot to death in hallway of E. Harlem high-rise

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 37-year-old man was fatally gunned down in a high-rise at a public housing complex in East Harlem on Tuesday morning, police said.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call just after 2:30 a.m. found the victim lying unresponsive in a fourth-floor hallway at the NYCHA Washington Houses.

The man had been shot repeatedly in the chest and in the head.

He was pronounced dead at Weill Cornell Medical Center. Police have withheld his identity pending the notification of his family.

Police continued to investigate after dawn outside the high-rise at 230 E. 102nd Street.

No arrests have been reported as the investigation continues.
