NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials are investigating the fatal shooting of a 43-year-old man inside a Brooklyn apartment building late Thursday night, according to authorities.
Police responded to a 911 call of a man shot inside of a building located on Bay Parkway near West 12th Street in Bensonhurst at approximately 11:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 43-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the torso, inside the location, the NYPD said.
EMS transported the victim to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim — whose name was not immediately released — was found on the staircase between the second and third floors, police said.
He did not reside in the building, according to officials.
Three people fled south on Bay Parkway in a four-door sedan, authorities said.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
