NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 72-year-old man died Wednesday nearly two weeks after his foot was run over by an MTA bus in Brooklyn.

Officers responded to a 911 call on Feb. 18 at around 6:13 p.m. about a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Avenue H and Nostrand Avenue.
The preliminary investigation determined that an MTA bus traveling along Avenue H struck the 72-year-old male as it turned onto Flatbush Avenue.
The New York Daily News reports the bus rolled over his foot and lower leg.
Originally, responding officers encountered the victim with a foot injury. EMS responded to the location and transported the male to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County in stable condition.
However, he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
Police said the 50-year-old bus driver remained at the scene, and he was issued a summons for failure to yield and exercise due care.
The investigation is ongoing by the New York City Police Department's Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad.
