Man arrested after slapping boy, 7, in Central Park: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was arrested after he allegedly slapped a 7-year-old boy across the face in Central Park, police said Sunday.

The boy was with his parents in the park, near Columbus Circle, when he was attacked at random around 4 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

A man came up to the child and slapped him across the face, knocking him to the ground, police said.

The man was held by a family member and bystanders before he was arrested, according to police.

Kevin Cadelina, 33, was charged with assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child.

Police said the boy didn't suffer any serious physical injuries.
