Man, 68, arrested for aiming assault rifle, threatening to shoot Brooklyn grocery clerk

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD arrested a 68-year-old man Tuesday afternoon after he aimed an assault rifle and threatened to shoot people inside a Brooklyn grocery store.

At about 2:40 p.m., Michael Stevens entered the Plaza Grocery on Newkirk Plaza in Flatbush and threatened to kill people, police said.

Stevens then pointed the weapon at an employee, officials said.

Officials responded to the incident and arrested Stevens.

Stevens was charged criminal possession of a machine gun, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and menacing.
