NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A man was arrested in a major illegal ghost gun bust at an Upper East Side doorman building, according to police—and word is he’s the “mad scientist” brother of Julia Fox, the model, actress and former girlfriend of Kanye West.
Christopher Fox, 30, was arrested as cops executed a warrant at an apartment at 200 E. 84th Street on Wednesday morning as part of a long-term investigation into ghost guns.
The NYPD’s Ghost Gun Team seized several ghost gun parts and materials typically used as components in explosives, including pressure cookers and “various chemicals,” police said.
“At this time, the matter is believed to be contained, with no apparent nexus to terrorism,” the NYPD said.
Fox faces a long list of charges, including manufacture of a machine gun, manufacture of a rapid modified device, manufacture of a dangerous instrument, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon.
He also faces drug charges after police allegedly found substances used to make illegal narcotics and equipment for pressing pills.
The NYPD couldn’t immediately confirm that Fox is the brother of Julia Fox, but multiple outlets have reported the relation.

Julia Fox rose to stardom while dating Kanye West in 2022, shortly after Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from the rapper, who now goes by Ye.
Julia Fox was quoted in a 2019 article as saying her brother was “like a mad scientist recluse” who built 3D printers “for fun.”
Her father was present during Wednesday’s arrest but was not charged, WABC reported.
“The NYPD will continue to fight relentlessly against illegal guns – against both the steady proliferation of traditionally-manufactured firearms and the increasingly prevalent numbers of illegal, untraceable but fully functioning weapons known as ghost guns,” the police department said in a statement.
