
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is searching for a man who allegedly struck the back of another man’s head for accidentally stepping on his shoes in Midtown.
The 46-year-old victim was walking east on West 40th Street, toward Seventh Avenue, around 4:10 p.m. on Aug. 12 when he accidentally stepped on the man’s shoes, police said Tuesday.
As the victim was crossing the street, the man approached him from behind and hit the back of his head with an unknown object, leaving a cut, the NYPD said.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, police said.
Police are now searching for his alleged attacker, a man in his 30s who stands at approximately 5-foot-5, weighs around 160 pounds and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, grey shorts, black socks, black sneakers, a black hat and a long chain.
