Man beaten, robbed by trio at gunpoint inside Manhattan subway station: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police launched an investigation after a group of suspects beat and robbed a 24-year-old man at gunpoint inside a Manhattan subway station early Monday, authorities said.

According to officials, just before 3:30 a.m., the victim was standing on the northbound A and E train platform at West 4th Street in Greenwich Village when he was approached by a trio of men.

One man flashed a gun before he punched and kicked the victim before snatching his wallet and cellphone, the NYPD said.

The three men took off, and the victim was transported to Lenox Health Greenwich Village for cuts on his face, police said.

There have been no arrests made and an investigation is ongoing.
