According to officials, an NYPD member of the service performing a paid detail in uniform was notified by staff that Foray was shoplifting at the location.

The officer confronted the individual as he tried to exit the store.

Foray proceeded to punch the officer in the face before fleeing on foot.

She suffered a laceration to her left ear, pain to the head, and a fractured bone in the face.

EMS transported the officer to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

It is unknown if any property was removed at this time.
