
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man died after he crashed into the back of a city garbage truck in Brooklyn early Sunday morning, authorities said.
The 32-year-old driver collided with the back of a parked sanitation truck that was out collecting garbage near Flatlands Avenue and E. 88th Street in Canarsie just before 4 a.m., according to police and the FDNY.

The man was pinned and had to be extricated from the vehicle, the FDNY said. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital but did not survive.
Police identified him as Kenneth Pamphile of Brooklyn.
His friends and family gathered at the scene of the crash Sunday morning.
Two sanitation workers, one of whom was standing outside the truck at the time of the crash, were not injured, police said.
