NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old man who was slashed in the neck on an East Village street early Monday, authorities said.
The attack happened just after 1 a.m. on Avenue A near E. 14th Street.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was rushed unconscious to Bellevue Hospital with a severe cut to his neck.
He was later pronounced dead.
The victim lived near the area where he was attacked, officials said.
The NYPD is searching for the attacker, who remains at large.
An investigation remains ongoing.
