Man, 22, found fatally stabbed in chest on Brooklyn street corner: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Authorities launched an investigation after a man was found fatally stabbed in the chest on a Brooklyn street corner early Thursday, according to the NYPD.

At approximately 12:40 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a man stabbed at the corner of Newport Street and Strauss Street in Brownsville.

Upon arrival, officers observed 22-year-old Zion Zeno unconscious and unresponsive, with a stab wound to the chest, officials said.

EMS transported Zeno to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Zeno belonged to a gang called Haitian Mafia and detectives were working to determine if it was a reason for the fatal stabbing, the Daily News reported.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
