WATCH: Shocking video of man on scooter grabbing 75-year-old's puppy in Queens, riding off

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Police are searching for a man they said stole a puppy from a 75-year-old man before riding off on a scooter in Queens over the weekend.

The incident happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday on 88th Avenue in Ozone Park.

Surveillance footage shows the thief as he engages with the victim, Carlos Gil. The suspect is then seen on the video petting the puppy before picking it up.

While holding the puppy, the suspect tries to drive on the scooter while Gil can be seen getting in from of him and attempting to stop him but he is able to ride around him and speed off.

So far no arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing.
