NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two people have been arrested for the armed kidnapping and brutal torturing of a man on Staten Island earlier this month, police said Saturday.

Abel Walters, 21, and Omarie Gomez, 20, were arrested earlier this week for their alleged roles in a group kidnapping of the 20-year-old victim that took place back on Nov. 9, police said. Another four to seven suspects remain at large.
Walters and Gomez were allegedly part of a group that abducted the victim and brought him back to their New Dorp apartment on Tysens Lane, where they stabbed him in the stomach and burned his face during an hours-long torturing, police said.
At least one of the attackers had previously known the victim, the Staten Island Advance reported.
Gomez allegedly told police the victim had “owed” something to the assailants, according to the Advance.
The pair have been charged with gang assault, felony assault, unlawful imprisonment, and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
