Man knocks woman to ground, slams her with door in Brooklyn purse-snatching

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released a photo on Wednesday of a suspect sought in connection with a violent purse robbery inside a Brooklyn building over the weekend.

The incident happened on Sunday, February 19, at approximately 6:40 a.m., inside of 245 East 34th St. in Flatbush, officials said.

According to police, a 64-year-old woman was in the lobby when the suspect approached her from behind and forcibly grabbed her purse from her shoulder.

After a brief struggle, the suspect took the purse and threw the victim to the ground.

While fleeing from the lobby of the building, the suspect slammed the front door against the victim, who was still on the ground.

The suspect fled on foot heading northbound toward Church Avenue.

The victim sustained injuries to her back and leg was transported by EMS to Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital in stable condition.

The stolen purse contained a wallet, $80, credit cards and personal identification, cops said.
