
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man on an e-bike threatened to “kill” traffic enforcement agents riding in an NYPD van in lower Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Rivington and Allen streets on the Lower East Side, according to police.
The man followed the marked NYPD van on the e-bike before threatening the traffic agents inside, police said.
“If I had a weapon, I would kill you,” the man told them, according to police.
The man on the bike then punched the driver-side mirror on the van, causing it to break off, police said.
The man fled on the e-bike, heading northbound on Allen Street, according to police.
There were no injuries reported.
Photos show the suspect was wearing an orange shirt, black shorts and black sneakers and was carrying a beige bag.
