'F*** YOU, MEXICAN!': Man on subway hurls slur, chokes another passenger

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is investigating after a man aboard a Bronx subways train was was beaten and choked by a stranger who yelled an anti-Hispanic statement, authorities said.

The victim was riding on a southbound 6 train approaching the Lawrence Avenue subway station in at approximately 9:20 a.m. on Sunday, November 20, when the incident occurred, police said.

According to officials, the suspect approached a 23-year-old man, punched him in the head then yelled "F**k you, Mexican" before he ran off.

The victim sustained head injuries and traveled to an area hospital by private means.
