VIDEO: Man beaten in Brooklyn subway station, robbed of $1,700 by group of 4

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials are looking to identify a group of four suspects wanted for violently robbing a man at a Brooklyn subway station over the weekend, authorities said.

On Saturday, May 21, at approximately 7:30 p.m., four suspects entered the Atlantic Avenue subway station in Downtown Brooklyn, where they approached a 31-year-old man at the station's mezzanine, police said.

One of the suspects asked the man for money to purchase a metro card when the three other suspects jumped the turnstiles and began punching the victim's body, the NYPD said.

The suspects took approximately $1,700 from the victim before fleeing the subway.

The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention on scene.
