Man punches MTA conductor who told him not to smoke in the train

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is searching for a man who punched a subway conductor in the face after she told him not to smoke inside of the train car.

The assault happened on March 19 around 2:40 a.m. aboard a southbound F train. While the subway was at the Church Avenue station, a 37-year-old MTA employee who was on duty went up to the attacker and told him he cannot smoke on the train.

According to police, the man then punched the victim in the face causing swelling and a laceration to her lip.

EMS workers transported the victim to Maimonides Medical Center where she received multiple stitches as a result of her injuries.
