Man robs Brooklyn BP gas station at gunpoint, nabs $1K from register: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is searching for a man who robbed a BP gas station at gunpoint in Brooklyn on Tuesday night, police said.

Authorities said the suspect entered the BP gas station at 169 3rd Ave. shortly before 7:30 p.m., approached the side of the counter, and demanded cash while pointing a black firearm at a 51-year-old male employee.

The gunman then forcibly removed $1,000 from the cash register and fled on foot southbound on 3rd Avenue. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

Cops said the suspect is described as having a medium build, around 6'3" tall with black hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a gray and blue hoodie sweater, light blue jeans, white sneakers and sunglasses.
