31-year-old shot and stabbed to death at Brooklyn NYCHA building

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 31-year-old man was shot and stabbed to death in Brownsville NYCHA housing Sunday morning, according to police.

An unknown assailant attacked Waleek Watford around 10:42 a.m. at the Langston Hughes apartments on Sutter Avenue near Rockaway Avenue, officials said.

When police arrived, they found him with gunshot wounds to his shoulder and torso and stab wounds in his lower back.

EMS rushed him to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police have not made any arrests and an investigation is ongoing.
