NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a gunman who shot a man in the torso during an argument at a friend chicken joint in Brooklyn over the weekend, authorities said.
A 22-year-old man was approached by the suspect at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, in front of the Royal Fried Chicken located at 496 Rockaway Parkway in Brownsville, officials said.
The two engaged in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical encounter and the suspect displayed a handgun and fired it at the victim, striking him one time in the abdomen, according to the NYPD.
The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction, to parts unknown.

EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital, where he was listed stable condition.
