NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 29-year-old woman was punched and stabbed during an argument aboard a southbound A train in Manhattan Sunday, the NYPD said.

Police said the incident happened at 7:55 a.m. when a man got into an argument with the victim, proceeded to punch her in the back of the head and stabbed her in the left abdomen as well as the groin area.
The suspect then fled the train at Canal Street to parts unknown, authorities said. EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.
Cops said the man was last seen wearing a red ski cap, red and black jacket, blue jeans and multicolored sneakers.
