Police said the attacker stabbed the victim around 5:30 p.m. just as the train doors opened and as the perpetrator was leaving the train.

The victim then followed the suspect up the street, where he lost him.

He was transported to Mount Sinai St. Luke's in stable condition, police said.

It's unclear if the victim knew his attacker.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
