Man wanted in failed robbery of Queens church's donation box

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who was caught on surveillance video attempting to steal money from a Queens church's donation box.

The attempted robbery occurred on April 10 just after 6:30 p.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Astoria, police said.

Using an unknown tool, the suspect went up the donation box and fiddled with it but could not get it open, cops said.

The failed thief is described as being about 50-years-old, 5'10" tall, with a light complexion, medium build and gray curly hair, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, black boots and carrying a black shoulder bag.
