VIDEO: Man who carjacked plumber's van in Queens sought by police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 34-year-old plumber was forcibly removed from his van in Queens last month by a carjacker who fled in an unknown direction before it was discovered nearly two weeks later, police said Thursday.

The victim was sitting in his car on 87th Street and Northern Boulevard in Jackson Heights on Jan. 31 at 10:18 p.m. when the suspect approached him, opened the van door, forcibly removed him from his vehicle and hopped inside, according to authorities.

Police said the suspect then fled the location in the victim’s car in an unknown direction. The victim was not reported injured.

Cops said the car was found on Feb. 12 at an undisclosed location. It is unknown if any property was removed from the van after it was found.

The suspect is described as being a man who is 20–30 years of age and was last seen wearing all dark clothing.
