VIDEO: Man who robbed Brooklyn smoke shop employee at gunpoint sought by police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials released video footage Wednesday of an armed man they are trying to identify in connection to a robbery at a Brooklyn smoke shop last month.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021, authorities said.

According to police, the suspect entered the Speedy Smoke Shop located at 1323 Myrtle Avenue in Bushwick, walked behind the cash register, displayed a black firearm, and demanded money from the 20-year-old male employee.

The suspect grabbed $2,000 cash from the register before fleeing on foot, eastbound on Myrtle Avenue, the NYPD said.

There were no injuries reported.

Officials describe the suspect as a male in his 20's, dark complexion, 170 lbs., approximately 5'9" tall, with black hair.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, black sneakers, an orange jacket, an orange mask, and a black hooded sweatshirt with a picture of a white skull on the hood.
