NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — There is already a problem at the Grand Central Madison, a new 700,000-square-foot Long Island Rail Road terminal that opened last week, and it's not a track issue.

"We clearly F-ed this one up and it's being fixed,” MTA Communications Director Tim Minton said in a statement after Bloomberg reported Monday there's a typo of artist Georgia O'Keeffe's name carved into the walls. The famed American modernist painter's name has one "f" rather than two.

According to Bloomberg, O'Keeffe is one of several artists and writers, including Toni Morrison and Lin-Manuel Miranda, whose quotes about New York City are inscribed into the concourse's walls.

O'Keeffe's quote reads: "One can't paint New York as it is, but rather as it is felt."

The flaw comes nearly a week after the $11.1 billion LIRR terminal on Manhattan's east side opened last Wednesday.

When full service begins to Grand Central Madison, the LIRR will add another 269 trains per weekday on top of the roughly 660 trains already in operation, officials said. About 160,000 passengers are expected to hop on and off platforms at the new terminal.
