
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Multiple shootings in Queens on Sunday left one man dead in a car near his home, another fighting for his life at a hospital and at least two more wounded, police said.

The fatal shooting happened in the Rockaways just after 10 a.m. as the victim sat in a car near the intersection of Beach 38th Street and Norton Avenue in Edgemere.
Officers responding to a 911 call found the 36-year-old victim inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound to his head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as area resident Anthony Edwards.
The suspected shooter fled in a white Jeep Cherokee, the Daily News reported.

Two more men were shot in the Rockaways hours later, police said.
The men were struck around 11:30 p.m. outside the Redfern Houses, near Beach Channel Drive and Hassock Street in Far Rockaway.
A 32-year-old man was shot in both legs, while a 26-year-old man was shot one time in his chest.
The victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.

A man was also shot in the face around 9:45 p.m. at the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City.
The 26-year-old was struck near 10th Street and 40th Avenue.
He was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
At least four men were also shot in Brooklyn overnight, including in Coney Island, Flatbush and East New York. All of the victims in those shootings are expected to survive.
No arrests have been reported in any of the shootings as the investigations continue.
