NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A teen died days after being shot in the head during an argument on a Bronx street, police said Wednesday as they search for the gunman who killed him.

Just before 4:30 a.m. on Friday, July 22, the teen was driving a 2020 Toyota Camry, when he pulled up in front of in front of 402 Claremont Pkwy. in Claremont.

He was approached by the suspect and the two became engaged in a verbal dispute, which escalated into a physical encounter.

The victim attempted to drive away at which time the suspect displayed a firearm and shot him in the head, before fleeing the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim exited the car and fell to the ground.

He was later identified by police as 19-year-old Travis Griffiths of Saddlebrook, New Jersey.

EMS responded to the location and transported Griffiths to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Griffiths died from his injuries on Wednesday, July 27.

The suspect is described as a man with a medium complexion, thin build, short dark hair and a full beard. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
