Unmasked NJ Transit bus passenger throws coffee in driver's face: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An angry NJ Transit bus passenger threw hot coffee in a driver’s face after being asked to mask up in Manhattan Wednesday, according to reports.

According to The Post, the bus passenger got on the bus at the Port Authority bus terminal on Eighth Avenue after 6 a.m.

The man was asked to put on a mask, as required on public transportation, but responded to the plead bu throwing a hot cup of coffee in the driver’s face, a police source said in the report.

According to police, the passenger shouted, “The bus is pretty much empty!” after throwing the coffee.

The driver dealt with right eye pain after the incident, but it wasn’t down if he was taken to a hospital, according to the report.

The suspect was described as 6-feet tall and weighed about 200 lbs., but other info wasn’t available.
