According to authorities, Pearce’s 28-year-old girlfriend left her Springfield Gardens home on Feb. 24 and found her Maltese dog bleeding from the nose and mouth once she returned home.

The dog died of its injuries a short while later. Police sources told the Daily News that Pearce was inside the home and the only one who had access to it.

Pearce and his girlfriend had apparently been talking about breaking up before the incident, an NYPD detective told PIX11.
