NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 52-year-old Asian man was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack in Midtown South earlier this month, police said Tuesday, as they released a photo of the suspect.

According to authorities, the victim was walking near the intersection of West 35 Street and 5 Avenue on Feb. 9 at around 8:10 p.m. when he was approached by the suspect, who proceeded to punch the victim in the face, causing a bloody nose.

The individual fled westbound on West 35th Street on foot, authorities said.

EMS responded and transported the victim to New York University Medical Center in stable condition. The investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force.

The suspect was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a printed pattern on the front, a dark-colored jacket and dark-colored pants.
